In this course, starting from the essential minimum of theoretical knowledge, the necessary foundations for understanding the principle of operation of urban drainage networks are given.
These networks becoming increasingly complex as time goes by, as they quite understandably have to incorporate pumping stations, valves, dumps, regulation tanks, etc. Urban drainage mixes two very closely-related but completely independent fields - hydrology and hydraulics, not forgetting the environmental component inherent to these systems.
The final aim of the course is to provide sufficient knowledge to be able to assess the operation of this kind of systems, as well as to be able to design these from the hydraulic angle.
