On-site training
Pressurised Urban Networks
Description

With the basic aim of understanding how these systems behave, this course presents the foundation of pressurised water networks, from both the angle of analysis and design.

As regards design, it discusses the basic starting hypotheses as well as design criteria, from the economic standpoint and the actual operating conditions. To perform the analysis the four models which enable this to be done, depending on the working conditions, are presented. The static method itself, the quasi-static, the rigid and the elastic method. It examines the concept of the mathematical model of a network, how to prepare this and the advantages that its usage entails, this use extending to the study of the evolution of water quality in its journey from the regulation tank at the head to the subscriber's tap.

Finally it presents some examples developed with the free domain program EPANET.
