Abstract
The discussed technical note is one of the few works in which a comprehensive set of experimental data describing the pressure time history of water transients with trapped air is analysed. According to the authors, the experiments were focused in the analysis of the so called mitigated water hammer effect. The experimental program was carried out with using a rigorous approach and the results obtained, for each initial condition, correspond to the average of five repetitions. In the discussers’ opinion the laboratory measurements presented will be an invaluable reference for many researchers that will certainly refer to them to validate future mathematical models.
