Resumen
This paper reviews the successive steps involved in the computer analysis of networks. The trend toward greater use of this analysis has been catalyzed by three things. Firstly, the data processing revolution which has allowed for in creased capabilities at ever decreasing costs; secondly, constant improvements made on calculating algorithms and lastly, the efforts of creative hydraulic engineers who have envisioned the computer to be much more than a mere instrument for making rapid calculations.
