Resumen
The presence of trapped air pockets in hydraulic pressurized systems is a well known source of problems for practical engineers, due to the very important peaks of pressure that can be attained during transient events. The authors have devoted to this subject some papers [1], [2] and [3]. In this article they summarize some of the previous conclusions and analyze two additional and important questions about of the topic. First of all, the influence of the initial length of the trapped air pocked on the maximum peak pressure reached during the transient, and secondly the incidence of the system source of energy (pump or water level tank) in such a maximum peak pressure.
